Còmhla is a luxury dining company founded by friends Helena and Joanna in Edinburgh, hosting bespoke events across Scotland and beyond. Brought together over a passion for wild natural Scottish ingredients, Còmhla’s philosophy is to celebrate the seasonal. With a deep-felt desire to sustain both environment and community, all that Còmhla does is driven by creativity, consideration and social-consciousness.

Joanna, Head of Food, is a Michelin-trained chef with widespread experience throughout the industry - including private catering, street food, cookery teaching, and in the food charity sector - but has found that her passion lies with events, and helping clients to achieve their vision. Having previously studied Medical Sciences at university, Joanna’s desire to experiment has since transitioned into the kitchen, where she loves to create dishes that nourish as much as they do delight. Outside of the kitchen, she can be found swimming in the sea, flicking through cookery books, or sat behind a pottery wheel throwing plates for her food.

Helena, Head of Events, is our resident Green Queen, passionate about food sovereignty and minimising waste. Growing up between Croatia and Canada, Helena brings global influence to tables and plates alike, fusing two diverse culinary regions with a use of fresh seasonal Scottish ingredients. With a background in Architecture, Helena’s creativity, attention to detail, and attentiveness help to curate the perfect atmosphere, translating initial ideas into an extraordinary event. When she isn’t busy planning events, she loves foraging and experimenting with fermenting, and exploring the Scottish countryside with her dog, Louis.
